Set-2
APPLICATION
Chrysanthos Underglaze Chalk is suitable for use on most types of clays. Shades are created by first wetting a brush and using it to smear underglaze chalk color that has been applied to bisque. Shades may also be created by smearing color applied to bisque with a wet or dry finger. Using the same technique for one color, two or more colors may be smeared together to create other colors or shades.
After application, excess dust should be brushed off gently and the decoration should be coated with a clear glaze before firing and fired to the glaze maturing temperature. The first coat of glaze should be sponged on over the Underglaze Chalk design to prevent the design from coming off if a brush on glaze is used. If the glaze is to be sprayed on or dipped on, it is not necessary to sponge any glaze on over the Underglaze Chalk design.
PHYSICAL DATA
The Underglaze Chalk may be fired between cone 06 (999oC) and cone 10 (1,305oC).
SAFETY DATA
The Underglaze Chalk is lead-free and safe for children to use. Care should be taken when brushing off excess chalk dust so that one does not inhale the dust particles created during drawing. Once coated with a suitable food-safe glaze, the chalk decoration is food safe, provided the glaze has been fired correctly and not crazed.
